Review of google translate portuguese to english::How to Translate Spanish to English

With               the               World               Wide               Web               being               so               much               a               part               of               our               everyday               life,               and               the               Internet               being               such               a               big               "thing"               in               so               many               countries,               I               sometimes               find               it               amazing               that               more               translation               issues               don't               arise.

Sure,               most               of               the               websites               I               visit               every               day               are               in               English,               but               sometimes               I'm               amazed               that               more               websites               I               want               to               visit               aren't               in               a               different               language.

I               suppose               it               helps               that               English               has               sort               of               become               the               de               facto               language               for               the               Web,               but               in               spite               of               that,               I               still               do               run               across               websites               I               wish               I               could               read,               but               are               written               in               another               language.

For               times               such               as               those,               numerous               online               utilities               exist,               so               that               all               I               need               to               do               is               plug               in               the               address               of               the               website,               tell               the               utility               my               native               language               and               that               of               the               web               page,               and               automated               software               spits               out               a               translated               version               of               the               site.

Sure,               the               translation               isn't               always               perfect,               and               sometimes               it's               downright               funny,               but               most               of               the               time               it's               good               enough.
There               are,               of               course,               translation               services               for               needs               not               related               to               websites,               but               those               almost               always               involve               going               to               a               web               browser,               entering               in               the               address               of               the               translation               service,               then               pasting               in               the               text               you               want               translated               and               going               through               the               steps               of               (again),               entering               in               the               original               and               desired               languages.

I've               used               these,               and               they               seem               to               be               just               as               good               as               the               website               translation               services,               but               (as               I               often               feel               when               I               find               myself               going               to               a               web               browser               to               use               a               web               application),               I               sometimes               wish               I               could               accomplish               the               same,               right               from               my               desktop.
A               program               for               Mac               exists,               called               Easy               Translator,               that               attempts               to               solve               just               that               problem               for               me.

It's               shareware               (costing               around               forty               dollars               or               so),               but               it               works               well,               is               incredibly               easy               to               use,               and               gives               just               as               good               translations               as               you'd               expect.

This               is               nothing               you'd               want               to               use               if               needing               professional               results,               but               if               you               need               a               decent               translation               just               to               get               the               rough               meaning,               then               Easy               Translator               may               be               for               you.
To               use               Easy               Translator,               simply               start               it               up.

You'll               see               two               large               text               entry               fields.

One               (the               top               one)               is               for               you               to               paste               or               type               the               text               you               want               translated.

The               bottom               field               is               where               the               translated               text               will               appear.

Below               the               bottom               field               is               a               popup               menu.

Simply               hit               that,               and               up               pops               a               list               of               the               36               different               translations               Easy               Translator               is               able               to               do.

English               is               most               represented               in               the               list,               as               you               might               expect.

Easy               Translator               is               able               to               translate               English               into               Chinese               (both               Simplified               and               Traditional),               Dutch,               French,               German,               Greek,               Italian,               Japanese,               Korean,               Portuguese,               Russian,               and               Spanish,               and               from               all               those               languages               back               to               English.

If               you               speak               other               languages               (with               the               exception               of               French),               you'll               likely               only               be               able               to               translate               your               language               into               English,               and               maybe               to               another               language.

This               is               definitely               an               Anglo-centric               application.
Be               that               as               it               may,               it               certainly               works               well               enough,               at               least               according               to               my               own               short               tests.

I               took               one               of               my               articles,               pasted               it               into               the               top               section,               and               had               Easy               Translator               translate               it               into               Spanish.

Based               on               the               small               amount               of               high               school               Spanish               still               floating               around               in               my               brain,               the               article               would               actually               be               understandable,               if               filled               with               awkward               phrases               and               likely               some               sections               where               techno-babble               didn't               quite               translate               as               intended.
As               stated               earlier,               Easy               Translate               is               shareware,               and               sells               for               $39.95,               which               in               my               mind               is               an               awful               lot,               considering               that               all               the               features               it               offers               are               available,               for               free,               on               websites               such               as               Google               and               Alta               Vista.

Sure,               it               works,               and               I               absolutely               like               the               ability               to               accomplish               all               my               translation               needs               right               from               my               desktop,               but               forty               bucks               is               just               a               bit               too               steep               for               my               wallet.

Review of google translate russian to english::What does the Russian "moi sladkyi" translate to in English?

Review of google translate russian to english::What does the Russian "moi sladkyi" translate to in English?

I               don't               know               when               I               first               heard               the               phrase               "out               of               sight,               out               of               mind."               I               don't               remember               when               I               first               learned               the               meaning               of               the               phrase,               either.

However,               the               meaning               is               easy               to               understand.

It               means               that               when               something               is               not               in               view,               it               is               easily               forgotten.

This               can               be               true               of               some               things,               but               it               is               obviously               not               true               of               everything.

The               time               that               I               can               remember               using               the               phrase               is               when               I               was               young               and               I               was               at               church.

It               was               after               the               service               and               I               had               some               toy               with               me.

There               was               a               toddler               there               who               loved               toys.

I               was               playing               with               her,               but               my               mom               told               me               that               it               was               time               to               go               home.

I               had               to               leave,               but               the               toddler               did               not               want               me               to               leave               because               she               liked               my               toy.

If               I               carried               it,               she               would               look               for               me.

My               mom               held               my               toy               so               that               the               next               time               she               looked               at               me,               I               did               not               have               it.

My               mom               took               it               and               started               going               to               the               car               and               I               could               meet               her               there.

As               she               took               it,               I               said,               "out               of               sight,               out               of               mind."
For               something               as               simple               as               that,               the               phrase               works.

The               girl               might               have               remembered               the               toy,               but               it               was               not               there,               so               other               things               took               importance.

It               was               not               what               she               thought               about               at               first.

She               could               focus               on               the               toy               that               she               brought               to               church.
Using               "in               mind"               for               "remembered"               started               in               the               13th               century.

The               phrase               "out               of               sight,               out               of               mind"               is               found               as               "Out               of               sight               out               of               minde"               in               1867               in               A               dialogue               conteynyng               prouerbes               and               epigrammes,               1562,               as               reprinted               by               the               Spenser               Society.
There               are               many               jokes               saying               that               computers               have               translated               "out               of               sight,               out               of               mind,"               into               such               things               as               "invisible               idiot"               and               "blind               and               insane."
There's               also               the               joke               that               says               "computers               can               wreck               a               nice               peach"               instead               of               "computers               can               recognize               speech.
In               1997,               it               was               found               that               translating               "out               of               sight,               out               of               mind"               into               Russian               and               from               Russian               back               into               English               resulted               in               "from               the               sighting,               from               the               reason."
                   Translation               technology               is               getting               better.

Google               translate               can               translated               many               languages               and               it               is               usually               close.

Translating               "out               of               sight,               out               of               mind,"               into               Afrikaans               and               then               back               to               English               worked               perfectly.

It               seems               that               it               works               with               the               other               languages               as               well,               though               every               language               was               not               tested.
